A water well tubular string is rarely selected from a single product photograph. Screens, casing, tail pipes, connections and downhole accessories must work together in the same well. The first inquiry step is therefore to convert the available well information into a reviewable technical BOM.
1. Well structure and main dimensions
Provide well depth, bore diameter, casing program, interval lengths and connection method with units. A well construction drawing is preferred; at an early project stage, a section table can be used to describe the planned structure.
2. Formation and particle information
Formation descriptions, samples or sieve-analysis data support review of the screen structure and slot proposal. Where a gravel pack is used, include the gravel plan or the conditions confirmed by the designer. A final slot value should not be selected from experience alone when this information is unavailable.
3. Water quality and material requirements
Water chemistry, corrosion environment and project-life requirements influence material selection. State the specified material, standard and whether stainless steel wire-wrapped screens, GRE slotted liners or another structure is required.
4. Connections and accessories
In addition to screens, casing and tail pipes, confirm whether crossover subs, centralizers, float collars, float shoes, stage collars and drill bits are included. Threaded, welded or other connections must match the tubular string and installation sequence.
5. Quality and delivery requirements
State requirements for drawings, material records, inspection records, packing identification and delivery sequence. Long products also require early review of transport limits, unloading conditions and split delivery.
